Labor Day has come and gone. Summer is officially over. No more white pants, no more 100 degree temperatures (not that those will be missed....then again, let's face it, who is really missing white pants?). Our summer days were spent at various and sundry park and pools around the grand ole town of Nashville and abroad. In June, we actually packed up and headed to Cape Coral, FL (a 30 hour round trip) to introduce Catelynn to her extended family for the first time. I think she was a hit! (I mean, look at that face. How could she not be?)By the way, it was well worth the 30-hour drive.
I have always hated the heat. I never would have thought that I would spend so much time outside in this kind of weather and actually live to say I enjoyed it! I guess that is one of the joys of motherhood. When you're watching your toddler unabashedly at play or placing your 8-week old daughters tiny feet in the sand at the beach for the first time, somehow, the sun seems less harsh, the humidity seems less stifling, and life seems a little sweeter.

Hurray for your trips! I am so glad you were able to take some breaks. Isn't awesome how children make things that were once unbearable new and amazing? I hate snow, but I thoroughly plan on making some snow angels and snowmen this year!
